    A Day with Thomas

    Thomas Hewitt Jones, composer

It is a privilege to interview Thomas Hewitt Jones, not only because he is an exceptionally talented composer but also because he is such a charismatic person, who seems always to be busy. So I’d like to thank him for taking time out of his schedule to share his passion about music and his insight into the musical side of London. I met him by chance a couple years ago and he charmed me like a prelude!

Thomas is a talented composer who comes from a very musical family. At 30, he has plenty of accomplishments already under his belt and, I am sure, many more to come. His main residence is in South London but he travels widely and has an excellent insight into the artistic side of London life.

John Walmsley, Director at JKW Law

I am so very pleased to introduce the readers of London In Photos to John Walmsley who is kindly taking his time out to take part in the blog series “A Day With…”. John is a very very dear friend whom I met at a networking event a few years ago. He is quite a fan of Russian culture – that’s at least how we bonded initially. John was born in Manchester but has lived in London for 25 years and I am looking forward to discussing with him his experiences of London and learning about new interesting places to visit.

John Walmsley is a lawyer and runs his own small commercial law firm “JKW Law” in the City. He has provided excellent counsel to my web design company regarding commercial and legal matters over the years.

    A Day with Olga

Olga Karapysh, Deputy Director of RBCC

It is a pleasure to start off “A Day with…” blog series with Olga, a fellow London-phile who has kindly provided her inspiring photos of London. I’ve known Olga for a number of years through Russo-British Chamber of Commerce, for whom I did a website a few years ago. RBCC is a wonderful organisation that brings together Russian and British businesses together. The London Office helps British firms to find the right contacts in Russia when planning to do business with Russian companies or opening an office there. And vice versa for Russian firms looking to do business in the UK. The Chamber organises networking

Angus Cook, British Actor and Film Editor

Thoughtful and caring Friend from university days. Talented Actor. Professional Film Editor. Great Comedian. King of Puns. And amongst many accolades that he has, he is also a YouTube Sensation, although he never agrees with me on that one. But with 11 million (and counting) channel views, at least in my circles, he is a YouTube sensation.

We spent a fun day in London, visiting Vertigo 42 for the afternoon tea and talking about about a career in film and the variety of work that he does, from performing on stage and in film, to film editing and writing scripts.

On Waterloo Bridge where we said our goodbyes,
the weather conditions bring tears to my eyes.

    Ben Aaronovitch, Moon Over Soho

My Dad says that being a Londoner has nothing to do with where you're born. He says that there are people who get off a jumbo jet at Heathrow, go through immigration waving any kind of passport, hop on the tube and by the time the train's pulled into Piccadilly Circus they've become a Londoner.
